Medical Physics Therapy Residency Application

NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Medical Physics Therapy Residency accepts all residency applications through the Medical Physics Residency Application Program (MP-RAP), managed by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine.

Resident positions are filled through the National Matching Services Inc.’s Medical Physics Matching Program. The deadline for applications is January 1 of the year when your residency would begin. Our admission committee, part of the Department of Radiation Oncology, reviews applications and interviews top candidates in February or March.

Admission Criteria

Applicants to the Medical Physics Therapy Residency must have a solid educational foundation and understanding of physics. This is demonstrated by having been awarded an MS or PhD degree in medical physics, engineering, or another physical science with coursework that is equivalent to or exceeds what would be required for a minor in physics. They must also have graduated from a graduate program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP), completed a CAMPEP–accredited certificate program, or have taken and passed coursework that satisfies the CAMPEP standards for graduate education.

If you have questions about the application process, please email Emily Rawn, residency program coordinator, at emily.rawn@nyulangone.org or call her at 646-501-8959.
